Enough with football, let’s talk elections
I told Sam tonight that now that football is over, we need to focus on a different game — elections. It’s kinda like football. You follow a certain “team” for a few months. You tune in for all the debates. There are basically two leagues – the Democrats and the Republicans. There are competitions within each of the leagues until one “team” rises to the top. And then once you get your #1 “team” for the Democrats and the #1 “team” for the Republicans, then these two #1 teams will go head to head for the Super-Election!
hehe. Ok, not quite the same, but it’s pretty interesting, nonetheless.
I found this link from the Washington Post tonight that I wanted to share. There’s an artist who has done caricatures of the different presidential candidates — and he does a short explanation of why he accentuates certain aspects of each candidate. It’s really interesting! I particularly liked the insight he gives about Mccain’s clenched jaws, Hillary’s balancing act (when the camera pans out at the very end to show his whole drawing — brilliant), Obama’s ‘messianic’ qualities and Huckabee’s persuasive pool of eyes (that part about wanting to go fishing with him and not really know what he thinks about issues was really funny). Check it out! I think you’ll like it.
And for those who want a good quick-summary of each candidate and short statements they have made about each of the important issues, I’ve found this link to be helpful.

those caricatures are really neat and insightful. and it’s funny how he can really view the appearance of the candidates in such a geometric way — like hillary’s and mccain’s cheeks, or how hillary’s head hangs in perfect balance with her body.
