  • SD fires

The fires in SD are going crazy.

Sam’s alarm clock went off at 6:30 AM as usual this morning.  Usually, we sluggishly sort of drift into a sort of awakenness, but this morning, we were stunned awake with the news that the SD fires had gotten worse over night.  The fire closest to us — in R — had spread to the RB area…which is where many of our friends live…and which is close to my parents’ house.  RB residents were being evacuted even at that time of the morning.  I called my dad after 7, and I guess he hadn’t been aware it had gotten so bad, because he was getting ready for work.  However, he works in RB!  I called my parents again around 8:30, and they are now packing their things and will come over to our place when it’s time to evacuate.  Sam & I have also begun to pack — just in case — though we are not that close to the fires right now.  We are standing by for further news.

Please pray that God, who is sovereign over wind and fire, would cause the winds to cease and fires to be contained.

  • while we were listening to the radio, i was thinking about the training we were going to have at work today, and i was about to start getting ready for work, too…

  • yeah, I woke up early this morning b/c i had a dr. appt and I drove to Mira Mesa for it. The medical center was opened and I saw my dermatologist but if my appt wasn’t at 7:45am I don’t think I would have been able to see him and get my meds that I so desperately need. I ‘knew’ how bad the fire was by listening to the radio but didn’t REALIZE how crazy it is until I went over to my inlaw’s place after the dr. appt. Daniel and I went home and packed up and evacuated to their place. Our bunnies are with us too. I hope the fire won’t reach the coastal areas. :(

  • the pictures look pretty scary.

  • Prayin’ for you guys!

  • I’ll pray, to (friend of Wilma’s). How are they now?

  • Hope you guys are ok?  May God bless you and keep you.

  • Thank you to everyone who prayed.  We are all okay.  None of our family nor our friends suffered any loss.  The people of San Diego are beginning to re-build — and we hope to be a part of that rebuilding process.
