  • Whenever I travel, it goes without fail that I am unable to have a restful first night.  Like 'nervous energy', maybe I always have a case of 'travel energy.'  Maybe it's because my body knows I'm in a new and foreign environment, I'm not home, and I'm just not yet comfortable, so I always end up having a very restless, sleepless first night.  Strangely, that's exactly how it's been with Sam gone.  I have had the same restlessness, the same sleeplessness.  I just can't sleep without him there with me.  I'm at home, but I still can't sleep.  But maybe it's because my home is where Sam is.  I know it sounds like a cheesey line in a movie (ahem, The Notebook), but I think I understand what that means now.
