  • Yesterday morning I read Mark 14:12-26 and was reminded of how God plans, prepares, orchestrates and sets everything into place.  He urged the man who owned the house to have the upstairs room all set up and then He prompted the "man carrying a jar of water" to be walking through town at just the right spot and at the right time when the disciples would intersect with him.  This enabled the disciples to follow the man with the jar to the man with the house in order to make the necessary preparations for the Last Supper at his house.  These men were all at the right place at the right time doing the right thing, and God used them.  Though the disciples were sent off with a task and could've thought all the preparations and arrangements would be accomplished through their own doing, the truth was that GOD had already set things up and prepared things ahead of time (i.e. the man with the house & the man with the jar had already been prompted prior to them), so that His purpose could be accomplished.

I love this reminder of God's sovereign orchestration.  What He has planned will come to pass.  I just need to keep focusing on obedience (so that I could be in the right place at the right time doing the right thing), believing that He has everything all planned and set up; and I need to live within that sovereign plan.  It seems that there are two ways of living life.  One is the living for myself and the making of my own decisions because I think I am writing my own story, and two, there's the living out the story that HE has written and is writing for me.  Which will it be?  Life is more beautiful and glorious when I sense His greater plan and purpose and I am choosing to live within that -- walking in step with Him.

  • AMEN!  Thanks so much for this...feels like God has been reminding me of this too and that I need to lay aside my own fears and insecurities especially if I believe He's calling me to something that is completely outside my comfort zone...scary and yet truly awesome at the same time!

  • Ditto LovinAbba. Thanks for this reminder. Seems like when I get "off track," God in His mercy & goodness finds ways to remind me of the importance of "obedience" & of seeking what His will is. There could be a theological debate on this topic, I know. But for my life, God has me in a place where I have to seek Him for everything including smaller decisions too, smaller details of life, etc. Thanks again!
