  • I woke up with a song in my head, "There is no greater love than this:  to be willing to die so another may live."  That's real love - the devoted, tenacious kind that means, "I'd die for you!"  Faithful and loyal and completely sacrificial in love.  Selflessness, denial - this is love.  Jesus was the one who said it first, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." (Jn 15:13) -- He said it, and then He did it.  People may call him crazy for having done it, but it's hard to deny that it's love.  Beauteous, glorious, awe-inspiring love!  Makes you marvel, give a standing ovation, and yet leaves you open-mouthed and speechless.  How could...why would...for me...?  Sentences are incomplete.  Eloquence has been stolen away - even from the extroverts.  It's God in heaven, King of kings, who has chosen to die for me.  There's no greater love than this.
