We made the time last night to take in the sunset. It was an amazing, blazing display of fiery orange, glowing pink and unearthly blue. Absolutely breathtaking. How does God do it? How does He spill out the paint, how does He draw the strokes, how does He light the sky? And not one sunset the same. After so many thousands of years, He's still making a new and unique display every single night. What perfect art, what skilled handiwork, what creative arrangement of colors and hues! How can any creature look skyward and not worship the Creator of all things? There's no room for denial. The heavens declare the glory of God.
God can make all things new every single day. Not just sunsets. He can wipe clean the slate of my heart with all its transgressions, foibles, bad track record and make me a whole new person. I can be a different person - unique to the new day. I don't have to go back to the same problem, the same issues, go through the same wrestling match with God and with the world, fall back to the same ol' habits, ruts or routines -- I can start a new path, trail, lifestyle, way of doing things. How awesome and amazing is that? New and unique sunsets each night mean new dawns for me each day.
