random thoughts about relationship
–i found these from an old computer-journal which spans 72 pages and 4 yrs
“Leaning is a lot different than hugging. Hugging involves arms and hands. Leaning is whole body moving in…leaning includes wanting and accepting.” — from While You Were Sleeping
A quote from Boy Meets Girl that I want to remember, “The shorter your ‘not a big deal’ list is, the longer your ‘very special when married’ list.” Meaning the more you save for after marriage, the more you will have that is set apart, special and wonderful to that private relationship between you and your husband. How wonderful to save the best of our selves for just that one person.
Am reading “Stepping Heavenward” and I started thinking, “Oh Lord, please keep me from engaging myself with worthless young men who would only prove to be an imprudent match.” It’s funny what we care about and consider as young men and women which lack the discernment of looking forward to the committed life of marriage. The one you choose is the one you will live with day in and day out. They will either sharpen you and make you better or rub you completely out. You marry the whole set of their strengths and flaws, passions, preferences and perverseness. Something to think about when considering a mate.
Not many people have books-in-the-making on their computers or make creative names for their computer icons. Is it possible that I could ever meet someone who would appreciate, love, adore that about me? That I love writing and those little quirks of creativity? Not just a distant “hmm…that’s interesting” from behind a newspaper but an active interest and appreciation of it. I guess that’s something I long for.
