Wanna Know a Secret?
I was intrigued by this verse I read earlier this morning: “The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given to you…” Lk 8:9 Jesus said these words to the disciples. Ooooh… there are secrets? I wanna know the secrets! Don’t you?!
Do you think I can pray and ask to get in on the secret?
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Lk 11:9 Yes!! Be active about it, and it will happen!
“For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Lk 11:10 Wow! I never noticed before that Jesus reiterates this promise!
So… I really can ask God to reveal Himself and the secrets of the Kingdom!
[majorly long pause... and prayer...]
Oh! I think I KNOW some of the secrets of the Kingdom. I think I must – or else, how’s it possible that when I have asked, I’ve always received? I either get what I want or something better!
I know a secret!
The secret is this: Jesus meant it literally.
Every promise and every command – He really meant it, and He meant it literally. Once we start taking the commands and the promises seriously, literally, our lives will completely change and change forever…

i concur. it’s easy…but i tend to make it complicated.
i agree for the most part. but what about matt 5:29-30 “29If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.”
