Reading.
Last night, I started reading Don Richardson’s Secrets of the Koran. Wow! GREAT book. If you don’t know anything about the Islam faith, you’ve gotta check this one out. After reading 50 pages, I feel quite enlightened. (well, shocked & a punched-in-the-gut-sort-of-saddened is more like how i feel, by the truth behind this religion…eesh! — but more thoughts on this later.)
After spending an hour with Don, I moved on to lighter reading… so I spent an hour in Narnia. (Well, I spent an hour trying to travel to Narnia.) I’m reading The Horse and His Boy…
“Oh the sweet air of Narnia! An hour’s life there is better than a thousand years in Calormen.”
“Oh hurrah!” said Shasta. “Then we’ll go North. I’ve been longing to go to the North all my life.”
“Of course you have,” said the Horse. “That’s because of the blood that’s in you. I’m sure you’re true Northern stock…”
I’ve been longing to go “North” all my life too. An hour’s life there is better than a thousand elsewhere… On Narnia, Narnia, how I want to be there!! …BTW, who else is reading Narnia?

trying to. >_<
trying to as well…hmm, it may help to actually have the book huh? haha..
i want to read that book so much..
=]
i’ve read and re-read narnia so many times that i’ve lost count
that first book sounds really interesting….i acquired a fascination/love for muslims after taking a world religions class on the 3 abrahamic faiths. hehe i’ll have to go hole up at the bookstore for awhile after my exams
I’m considering going back to “The Magician’s Nephew” and starting all over again.
can I borrow ‘Secrets of the Koran’ after you are done? I just bought a book about Islam from Amazon. It hasn’t arrived yet and I forgot what it’s called.
i truly admire people who can read so much yet enjoy it! haha. that is something i have yet to master despite the fact that i’ve had to read countless journal articles.
we are going to wait for you for the reunion. it should be very fun! see u then.
this is my new prayer journal – not using xanga naymore – benny213.blogspot.com
take care

Hehe…. read it a long time ago…
Hmm…the review of that book casts some doubt on how accurate and truthful it really is. It’s always a little dangerous to base your view of one religion on a book someone has written on that religion, especially someone who’s not a member of it, but another religion.
If you wanted to give someone an accurate view of Christianity, would you give them a Bible or a Muslim’s book about Christianity?
Just a thought.
umm.. i think im still reading silver chair, but ive put the book down, then i lost it. oh what a stef thing to do to a book.
ooh! i started reading the first one …then just recently restarted reading it! but i’ve not been reading it regularly! man, i wish i was on the same track as you. i think i also have a similar koran book that i want to read – it’s called “understanding islam” or something like that….so many things I WANT to do, but have not gotten to do them yet…story of my life!
another book that was highly recommended to me was “Answering Islam: The Crescent in Light of the Cross”. it approaches the “debate” from both sides: from a Muslim’s point of view and from a Christian’s point of view.
per NYCOwl’s comment, YEP, it’s a good thing to read the Koran, too. and if you’ve done so, you’ve done something that MOST muslims never do themselves!
