  • if you’re anything like me, over the years, you’ve created so many email addresses and screen names you couldn’t even count em if you wanted to.  and i’m sure you have a story behind each one.  here are a few of mine:

golden raindrop – back in the day, i used to “bbs” and i chose this as my s/n b/c i liked the imagery of candy golden raindrops.

cyblade - before i was a christian, i liked to use this online name which was taken from a comic character.

forevafound – this was a name that sam actually gave me.  it comes from luke 15.  “i once was lost but now i’m found” - forever found!  the reason why it’s “foreva” and not “forever” is because i had my juno software open one day while my comp crashed and subsequently was never able to access “foreverfound” again, so i had to switch to “forevafound.”  believe it or not, i’ve been using this name since before internet was popular.

surrenderedtoo – a few years ago, pam & i were wrestling over the question, “would we be willing to suffer for Jesus?”  well, she came to a “yes” before i did, and took on an email address called “surrenderedone”.  when i got to the place of surrender also, i chose surrenderedtoo for my email.  strangely enough, we have both long since closed those hotmail accounts.

wannabechinese – i opened this account because i was going through a phase where i wished i was chinese.  serious?  well, sorta.  i wanted to go to china for missions and was gonna use it as my account while i was overseas.  unfortunately, it took me so long to go on missions that by the time i got there, that account had too much christian jargon in it, i couldn’t use it. :(

mosquitomagnetme – so when i finally go to china, i created and used this account.  while overseas, i realized what a mosquito magnet i was. oh my, they ate me alive!

uncommonscrawl - when i started a gmail account, i wanted to create something “different” that i could use when i was a teacher (i still have dreams of being a teacher one day).  “scrawl” refers to my writing.  as much as i want to be a writer, i know my skills are still wanting.  they need more honing and refining.

manasic – stands for Mary Ann Nguyen A Sister In Christ.  i had always thought it was cool how if you abbrev “sisters in christ” and my initials, it almost sounded like you were saying “sic man”.  like, “that’s sick, man!”  (which, back in the day, meant, “that’s cool.”)  anyway, so when i was choosing an aim s/n, i decided to invert it to come up with “manasic”.

searchingfortreasures – for as long as i can remember, i have always been searching, seeking, digging, probing, looking for Truth.  i still am today.

  • Nope…I’ve been bluebutton since 1996. Added fuzzmonkey recently to hold all my junk mail

  • Golly! You’ve had A LOT of screen names!

  • what is “bbs”? am i took young or something

oh and “that’s sick, man!” to mean “that’s cool!” is not a back in the day thing.. well, i mean if it’s old.. it’s still very current or is back. ppl have been using that for the last couple of years and it always confuses me.. usually i need to ask a clarification question, “Do you mean the good sick or the bad sick?”

  • haha interesting… =)

yahrim’s the first one i created back in… 1997? 98? i dont remember… but i’ve had quite a few random ones in between, many being used for pranks or inside jokes =]

  • hahaha i am laughing at j9′s comment about “sick man” – i too have wondered about that phrase.

i am DEFINITELY a contender for the one who creates so many screennames (and subsequent passwords that i forget) that i can’t remember them all!
