  • weekend randoms

i’m down with a cold. sore throat and coughing.  despite that, julie came over last nite… and napped… while i watched an audrey hepburn movie (i love audrey hepburn; she has so much poise!).  we had our usual hashing/dreaming session (or i guess what others would call “conversation”) for half an hour before falling asleep.

this morning i started reading a christian fiction novel about missionaries.  reading fiction is one of the few indulgences i have that have no decided purpose except for pleasure.  i love getting lost in a storyline.  and i love finding good fiction.  it’s a rarity, let me tell you!   it’s like finding treasure to find a book that is actually, compelling, captivating, and full of great meaning.  well-written fiction drives a biblical Truth home with such sweet subtletly, you weren’t even aware of it.  it’s the most satisfying thing ever.

and now, off to “pasture house”, where colleen has promised that the seat from their new deck in the daylight is worth a trip over. ;)
