  • Pastor Lam

Whenever I walk into my church on a weekday, I always look across the lobby to the door at the farthest right hand corner.  If the light is on, I always stroll on over and peek into the little window.  If Pastor Lam is not with someone, I wave at him with exuberance until he notices me.  Always without fail, he stops whatever he’s doing and beckons for me to come in.  I don’t usually have an agenda when I peek into his office.  I just want to say hi.  But invitably, he asks me what’s going on, invitably, I share about my life and invitably, he chooses to pray for me.

If Webster ever needed picture examples to define their words, I would submit Pastor Lam as the definition of a “pastor”.

He is a preacher, a teacher, a counselor, a father-figure and a shepherd.  Inevitably, I always walk away from him feeling encouraged and cared for.  Isn’t that what a pastor is for?
