Three Sweet Blessings.
Pwrchords – my mei-mei, who has been in every small group I have ever led (seriously), women’s retreats I’ve ever put together, Sunday school classes I have taught, youth group I have advised, Navigator ministry that I have loved and even my work at the California Smokers’ Helpline, my “student” – and yet still my teacher, my sister, my friend. When we talk and hash through life, when you ask me hard questions, it challenges me, forces me to re-think things and explain myself and as a result, my thinking becomes clearer. Your relationship with God is real and vibrant. The thoughts and ideas you glean from His Word are full of wisdom. You teach me as often as I teach you. Candy, you fill my love tank! After having conversations with you, I walk away feeling full. Full of Love and full of Life. Tuesday prayer times have been the gift of the ages. Prayer with you is how prayer should be! You love and care and serve and see people just like I do! (You even write your memory verse cards like I do!) We’re the same! And it makes it so much fun. Isn’t this the model for the perfect discipleship relationship? I love you, little sis, like no other!
Dr36mer – who else would be willing to walk around the block a few times and juggle with me at 1 am in the middle of a grocery store simply because we want to talk more? You share your passions with me and let me share my passions with you. You suggest something and I want to do it too. I suggest something and you do it too! What a great friendship. Always, it seems, that when I come to you feeling hurt, sad, angry from things in life, I end up walking away feeling healed, happy and reconciled – or at least with a lighter step because of being reminded in my conversation with you of a God of Love who is totally in control, totally gracious, totally limitless in His promises to us. How is it that prayers and conversations and dreams and life all mingle together so easily – with every breath we take? Thanks for putting the melody to the poetry I write (literally). I’m so glad the holy ground between us will always be the same. Go ahead! Do all that you have in mind. I am with you heart and soul.
