  • Autograph & Other Notes


     


    I got James Hudson Taylor III’s autograph!  He signed in the “notes” section in the back of my Bible.  While looking there, I started reading over the thoughts I’ve inscribed through the years.  Here they are.


     


    Received Bible Dec 18, 2000 from CBD for $14.00.


     


    - 12/19/00  Lord, make me the person I have never been.  Holy One of Israel, confront me.  Make me more like Thee.  (Isaiah 30)


     


    -  01/01/01  Without you, O Lord, there’s an emptiness that echoes off the walls and resounds in the heart.  It is a deafening silence.  How grateful I am, O Lord, that you have chosen to fill my heart with the hum of your gracious love and unwavering Promises.  I am yours, Lord, forever – in this life, to infinity and beyond.


     


    - 3/11/01  1.  I am waiting for God’s best.


                     2.  I am offering God the best.


     


    - 3/17/01 “redeem” – to convert to something of value.  It is in Jesus’ blood that I have been converted to something of value.  Eph 1:17


     


    - 4/22/01  Yes, He has called me chosen, but the question is “for what?”  To indulge myself?  To have glory for myself?  To sit happy & satisfied?  No… chosen to be an instrument, chosen to bring glory to Him.


     


    - “In God’s presence is love that will take all eternity to comprehend.” - Edward Welch.


     


    - IMPACT to IMPART – as I study God’s Word, it must impact me and then I must impart it to others.


     


    - Lay Cha yeu thuong, long con yeu men Chua.  Nguyen loi ca con dang len Ngai dep y Cha.


     


    - Instead of floundering and trying to have my way, Lord, help me to submit.  Ps 32:9

    - 3/29/02  Lord, thank you for your Holy Word, which is like a breath of fresh air, renewing, refreshing and always giving me life.


     


    - 8/25/02  Jesus had internal anchors.  (He did not care about what others thought, not swayed by men.)


     


    - 1/26/03 Lord God, I want to always treasure You – to treasure and cherish you with my whole heart.

    - Isn’t a community a group of people who not only have committed themselves to each other and feel that they belong together but also spur each other toward Christ?  I think that’s the way it’s supposed to be.


     


    - 3/17/04  Romans 12:2 – CONFORMED – schema (Grk) an outer change in appearance only.  TRANSFORMED – metamorpho (Grk) an outer change as a result of the inner nature.  The prerequisite to transformation is a new nature. 


     


    - 5/9/04  Can’t wait for the day when satan is vanquished and You, Lord Jesus, are crowned the matchless King!
