The 3 M's.
Candy asked me awhile ago if I agreed with Carlan that as a woman, I am "called to a man" -- as opposed to being called to a "mission." I was a little taken aback by what he had said. I understand his statement to mean that women are to follow what their husband's mission is for life... But is that right?
Well, all of this takes us back to the three M's. Master, Mission and Mate. They say you're supposed to figure these things out in that order. Some people would question, "Well, can't I find my mate first and then my mission?" Actually, the answer is no.
Let's go back to definition:
Mission: your reason for living.
Vision: where you are going.
So. As a believer, you better know what your reason is for living, and that better not be dependent on a man. Or you're in big trouble. Vision, however, can be formed and determined with your mate. So, Candy, I would conclude that I disagree with Carlan. But of course, it's probably really all a matter of semantics. =)
And. P.S. It's not a guy's fault that he doesn't know what his vision is. That's up to God to reveal in His time. We've gotta be patient and wait.

sister, i'm right there with ya!
MA, not only do I agree with you, but I thought your explaination was very clear, straight to the point and logical. It's actually a very 'T' answer. Maybe you too can be a programmer.
True true..
I wonder though..what do people without a curiosity about their MISSION do???
Sometimes I don't think it's their fault per chance..say, someone who is mentally retarded..or severely disordered...or who just don't think about the deeper things in life??
thoughts about this?
good question, jo.
you're right, cindy, that was a pretty T answer!!
to answer Joanne's question: i think that everyone's mission in life is to glorify God. we, as thinking beings, have the chance to ponder and ultimately to choose to EMBRACE this mission in our hearts and then to act on it with our lives. those who are incapable of pondering it can actually still act on it. how do you glorify God? sometimes glorifying Him means simply to be who He has created you to be. like the birds. how do they glorify God? just by being.
how is mission different than master then?
i like mary ann.
hahah upon reading my comment.. it's kinda ambiguous.. though i do like you... i meant to say... "i like, mary ann"
