how do you unwind?
i love books. with a passion. the smell of them. the look of them. the feel of them. new books that need to be cracked. old books that are soft and worn with crinkles and annotations. they are words but they are stories and they are lives swirling to the surface, waiting to be uncovered.
the person who weaves the story is telling you something about themself. their thoughts, their ideas, their joys, their sorrows, their anger, their hurt, their observation of the world as they see it.
perhaps that is why i love lingering in a bookstore for hours and hours. it's like walking through a world of journals. this is what people are thinking about, worried about, dreaming about. this is what they think will bring them happiness and satisfaction. this is what brings them amusement.
it's my way of unwinding. i haven't been to the bookstore in two months, and i feel out of touch. something is definitely missing. tomorrow you will find me at the bookstore on my day off work...

Hey... nice post about books. I like good books to unwind, too. Or, I should say that I enjoy reading to unwind when I'm in that "I-want-to-be-alone" mood. I like MotorTrend and Car and Driver too--but those are magazines.
I like bookstores too! ::yay:: pDalon and I went to Evangelical and Berean yesterday in search of some good books for the youth library. That was a lot of fun. We were noticing, as we have on a couple of occasions before, that we've become kind of like book-collecters because we have so little time to really read. :- Maybe we'll have books in Heaven, eh?
i love books too.....brand new ones with nice 90 degree perfect corners...and perfect old ones too, even if they're well read. mmmm....i could spend forever at borders.
