  • Gray Hair

I saw a gray hair last night while blow drying.  It's funny to find one when you're in high school but freaky when you're gonna turn twenty-five soon!  It was seriously jarring to me.  Why do I have a gray hair?  I don't even have anything to stress about!

But the truth dawned on me.  It's not stress.  It's just getting old!

Later, in my room, I thought about Prov 16:31, "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained by a righteous life."  Maybe it's just God's way of affirming me, "Mary Ann, you're living a righteous life!"  haha.  I wish.

But then it made me wonder... there are plenty of people who get gray hair - but certainly not by living a righteous life.  So why the Proverb?  Then I thought... well, maybe it's because back in the day, to live long enough to get gray hair really was quite an achievement and only those who lived righteously reached that point.  What do you think?
