The Untold Story
Read Tim's then Candy's before you read this.
I had prayed a prayer about the possibility of Tim & Candy way back in August. It was really random. And I really forgot about it... until I saw them interacting with one another after church one Sunday in November. There was definitely something. I was anxious to include in my next email to Tim a question about Candy. But I hesitated. I didn't want to do something on impulse. If this wasn't something God was doing, then I didn't want to push it and be the instigator of any ideas. I didn't want it to be a "me" thing but a "God" thing. So I prayed and waited the entire week. I figured if I still felt prompted to say something, then it was God. The following Monday, I felt pushed over the edge. That was when I emailed him and wrote in the P.S. "Do you have your eye on my little sister?" He wrote me back in utter shock at my forthrightness but admitted his interest. When I replied to his email, I felt absolutely compelled to tell him that he had my blessing.
I'm so awed by the sovereignty of our God. If I had written him any earlier, he wouldn't have been ready for it. He hadn't asked for those confirmations til that very Monday morning. It makes it obvious, doesn't it? That when God is up to something, He will orchestrate people, time and events so that everything falls into place. I love how He does that!
As a final note. Candy is my "little sister". I have always guarded her jealously from nonquality guys. And many guys have come in and out of her life - as possibilities. But I think Tim has been the only one that I have ever wanted to bestow my blessing on. He is definitely quality.
Anyway, let me know if you want me to pray for you in regard to a relationship. haha.

You know, it is an awesome testimony of how God orchestrates everything according to His time and will. I particularly like how your heart for Candy, your intimacy with God, and your desire to be a true blessing ends up lending both your prayers and blessing substantial weight.
It's always insightful when there are three (or more) sides to the story, intead of just two. Blessings, Mary Ann.
wow, that was awesome. I mean....He's awesome.
I talked to Leihlyn a few nights ago, and she said "that mary ann... she's a woman of faith!" haha indeed...
Hey, I'm going to be me for a minute and realize that it is a little...I don't know...maybe cynical? I'm an outsider, I don't know either the guy or the girl but I read their stories.
Props to Tim and Cindy. I think that it is way cool that God is working his will out in this way.
I guess my issue right now is that the stories sound so Nav for lack of a better word. Having not been in a relationship perhaps I just don't know that every version is angst filled. But the Nav version in all its iterations seems prone to deep angst and paralyzing fear sometimes. Charismatics want a Holy Spirit vision, Navs want verses that LEAP off the page, others may just wait for some indigestion inspired gut feeling. Clearly we want to move in step with God. Clearly we want to treat the other with respect and kindness. Clearly our feelings can be really hard to deal with. What's unclear is how we deal with this stuff and for me as a graduated Nav--what is Nav culture and what is God's will.
Hey, I don't want to harsh on anyone. I've just been, ironically, thinking about post-Nav life.
this goes w/o saying.. thaaaanks for looking out for me
that is so awesome mary ann. man, your prayers (and blessings!) are v. powerful!
DUUUUUDE maryann...that's so crazy!! thanks for sharing your side of the story...it's awesome to see just how God perfectly pulls every little thing together and in the end it just all works out...i have some friends i'd like you to pray for...
