  • This week as I was thinking about what kinds of choices I wanted to be making, I was struck by the thought that the choices you make is the story you're writing.  Meaning - whatever choices you make becomes the story that you will be re-telling later.  So the question is - what kind of story do you want to be writing?  What kind of story do I want to write?  I want to be proud of my decisions, so I'll be happy (not embarrassed) to re-tell my story later...

  • wow mary ann.. that's so simple.. yet challenging and inspiring and driving.. thanks :0)

  • yeah, but at the same time, God is the writer and perfecter of our faith. And I think he guides our decisions and writes our story for us.

  • nice way of looking at it - kinda inspires one to make the "best" decision

  • yes, joann, the concept is that God guides us, but the question is, what choice will you make in regard to what he has said?

and sometimes there are just things in life where it's not about "good" vs. "bad" but good vs better.  what choice would you make then?  i think of the story-writing and i think i want to have stories of making the best of choices. :)

  • mary ann, interesting concept and worth discussing! i think you are calling us to be responsible and godly with our decision-making. what we do today will affect tomorrow, and we reap what we sow. i also see joann's point, which i think is that our lives/stories are ultimately contained in His story. we are on His journey. after all, we "no longer live," but it is CHRIST who is living His life in us (Gal.2:2).
