Young & Single
Having recovered from my flu (finally!), last night I drove to my parents' house after work and packed up my stuff. It felt like I was "moving out" all over again. My mom wanted me to stay another night, but I had been there all week; it was time to go back to Embry House! Being at home was like being on vacation for a whole week. I didn't have to worry about anything - no cooking or cleaning (I got out of cleaning because I was sick!). My mom took care of everything for me. It made me wonder why I wanted to leave. But... staying at home would be a sure-fire way to stunt my growth and development as a young adult.
Back at Embry House, it was fun to see my roommates again, to play fusball with Daniel & Cindy, to have guests come over (Candy & Tim), and to be talkative, to laugh... Being at my parents' house sure spirals me into introversion. Overall, I love being young and single - and living it up as one who is young and single. No family responsibilities. It's just me and God. What a glorious life!

isn't it fooseball? : ) dude i totally hear ya mary ann. i thought it was funny that you said young and single.. v. old and single or just young, or just single... there is something thrilling about being BOTH young and single!
It's always a treat to visit you guys : ) any chance you'd move back to LJ? please? please?
yeah, i will never again be young & single after this period passes. these really are the best years of our lives, we've gotta make it count!!! (one day, i MIGHT be single again, but definitely not young!!)
and yeah, you're right about the spelling. oops, i was thinking spanish.
we're probably gonna stay at Embry House for awhile. no way would we trade this cute little blue house for a tiny apartment again!!! but you're welcome to make that trek over the 805 (one whole exit!!) to MM anytime for a visit! we love having you over!
actually, on my shipping and billing statement, they actually spell 'fusball' instead of 'foosball'. I found it weird but i just took it as another way of spelling it. Maybe I bought it from a Hispanic company? hmmmm
hey... you mean, i was right???
Would you rather be old and single OR young and married
dude, is that even a question???? of course, young & married!! haha.
Quite right, each time of life is precious, uniquely suited for a different facet of God's work and glory, and useful for our own instruction. Still, on the question of being single and old or young and married, I am reminded of the verse which says, "Let your fountain be blessed, and take pleasure in the wife of your youth" (Proverbs 5:18, HCSB).
who won the fusball?
Can I come visit too?
Now that I have more energy, and have visited the Bay Area, time to visit SD next. Oooh, I found out there is a Container store in SD, can we go there if I visit?!
