  • This year - 2004 is a Leap Year.  Do you know what that means?  Back in the 70s when it was only culturally appropriate for men to initiate with women, everyone knew Leap Year meant that girls could take a leap forward in initiating with men.  Leap Year was the year where girls would ask guys to dances - all year long.

Where did this originate?  Believe it or not, to St. Patrick who agreed to St. Bridget to have one day (and just ONE day) where women could propose to men.  In fact, it was passed as a law in Scotland that a woman could propose to the man of her choice that one day - Feb 29th - every four years, and if a man refused, he would be fined!  http://marriage.about.com/cs/holidays/a/leapyear.htm

So... girls, propose to your man!  :)
