We went out for Auntie Anna’s birthday last night. It was the Lowe family (Auntie Jennifer, Uncle Gee, Nat-Nat, Daniel), the Wongs (Uncle Derek and Auntie Leah), Yan, Alex and I. I had so much fun! Being with those adults fills my love tank. Why can’t I hang out with older adults more often? Being with them was an encouragement to me because they are people who have fought for God and have “overcome” and are still loving Him & serving Him after all these years. What a reminder to me of God’s faithfulness in the midst of a time when I was starting to feel so overwhelmed and discouraged. Yes, God IS faithful.
Sitting next to me during dinner was Uncle Derek. He said (to me, Alex & Daniel): “Guys should take the opportunity at banquets like this to sit next to a girl so that he can have the opportunity to serve her.” He said that was what they (I guess his generation?) were taught. I thought that was so sweet and clever, because he was taking every opportunity to serve me… (Dnat, you have cool parents!)

Awww, Auntie Anna!
Wow, if most (notice I didn’t say all) of the guys I know does that, then the separation of guys and girls that started when we were kids and carried through adulthood wouldn’t be there as much. We all know cooties ended back in the days…
Oh, yeah, but us girls would also need to give the guys the opportunity to be these gentlemans and servants too.
wow who organized that event?
alex organized the event.
