  • Out of the Way Love.

Last nite after Crossroads, Pam told me that Kenrick was gonna drive her back home.  I was a bit incredulous, "What?  All the way back to La Jolla?"  It seemed kinda ridiculous to me (sorry, Pam) that he'd drive from Scripps Ranch to La Jolla and then back to his place in Scripps -- when I could've so easily driven her back.  Aiyah!  (It's obvious here who doesn't have a boyfriend, isn't it??)

Driving home, it got me thinking.  I've learned a lot from living with two girls who have boyfriends.  When you "love" someone, you would go completely out of your way to serve them and to be with them.  You just want to be with them ALL the time.  And you'd be willing to be impractical just to spend more time with them.

Another observation.  After spending a huge chunk of time together, there's always a lingering at the door.  Snatching as much of those last moments together as possible.  Those who have lingered know the sweetness of this indulgence.

When you love someone, you want to spend as much time with them as possible.  And you linger.  I realize that I don't do that enough with the One who loves me more than anyone on this earth every could.  I need to carve out the time to linger with Him.

  • hhaha mary ann.. when i read that i almost gagged too  (guess who's single w/ya?!) haha but upon second read.. that is really cool. dude, i want to linger with Jesus. haha we should spread that around.. lingering.. ooooh....

  • hmm...seems a bit impractical to drive all the way there and back, but hey...since kenrick enjoys making "lovesagna" it doesn't surprise me that much...but for love...gosh, people do some very impractical things. yes...lingering with Jesus, a very good reminder.

  • interesting... how long have they been together...?

  • haha.. for clarification, the reason i brought pam home was because i hadn't really spent that much time with her in 2 days, and i just wanted to do that. the drive is under 15 min! it's like N. Davis. to S. Davis.. it's nothing compared to the 7 hr. drive it was before to see her.
and upon consulting pam, it is the other couple that lingers at the door. yes, u can stop gagging now.
