If you want to learn how to be a servant (a slave), gain a true sense of humility, patience, endurance... and have your self-esteem shot on a daily basis and mangled over sharp rocks in gentle progression, get an Administrative Assistant-related job.
I've been through a 2 year refinement in regard to humility and servanthood, which has been good, in a sense. But I think there has definitely been some cruel wounds inflicted from this job... that will leave me despising admin assist jobs for I dunno how long... I don't think they're all like this (are they???), but I can't help but make a broad generalization. I guess you could say, I'm just being honest here. Honest. Yeah, honestly, this makes me want to cry.

i can attest to the fact that they aren't all like this.
in my menial labor positions i have seen a whole lot of grace lavished upon me, as well as my dignity being preserved when it certainly didn't need to be.
mary ann, there are people who wield leadership well, and there are ones who use their position in ways that only show how lack-of-character they really are. (have had people above me like that too. just not lately.)
don't settle into believing that the worst is all there is. there's better. (just another reason why you should take this job of mine.. it would be so healing for you.)
oh yeah, and props on your honesty.
