Padres won!
Our first Major League Baseball game was awesome!
Our plan was to take the trolley to Petco Park after lunch. While we were eating, Joshua asked me if I was going where he was going. I asked him, “Where are you going?” He said, “The trolley.” And I said, “But where are you taking the trolley to?” He just said again that he was going on the trolley. Apparently, the trolley was the highlight of his day!
[It's true, my sister, mom and I have (on separate occasions) just ridden the trolley with Joshua with no real destination in mind. He loves it that much!] Here he is on the trolley — looking quite contemplative.
It was Baby’s first ride on the trolley, and she loved looking out the window as the sites of San Diego passed her by (wish I could show you pictures of that). It was also Sam’s first time on the trolley too. Here’s him and Joshie — two of my most favorite men in the world! Aren’t they handsome?
We got pretty good seats. Home plate wasn’t too far from us, so we got to see all the action up close. It was an awesome game! Padres won with a score of 4 to 1. (It’s ’cause we prayed! haha.) Kouzmanoff hit a homerun, and that was so exciting to watch. Man, sports is so much better live than on television — with doing the wave, and cheers and singing! Here’s the view we had from our seats. (p.s. the grayish hair you see at the bottom left of this photo is the head of Jeff — from Jeff & Jer!)
Here’s Sam and me as we were leaving Petco Park.
Here’s all of us. Baby is in the stroller (bottom left) sleeping. The big billboard behind us is of Khalil Greene, who was MVP last year, but most importantly, his name and number is on the back of our shirts!! (Too bad he’s out for the season because of hand injury.)
Back on the trolley, here’s Joshua happily konked out. The perfect depiction of how we were all feeling!
We left early in order to beat the crowd on the trolley (it gets pretty bad) — which was nice, but we missed seeing Trevor Hoffman (future hall-of-famer) pitch.
Oh well. It was already such a full day!
Thanks, to our foster agency!
