Sam left this morning. I drove to work mulling over her “gone-ness.” I have only been the favored sidekick to two people in this world. One is in China and one is heading to Dallas. Poor me.
But the 3 of us have this saying. It is that wherever we go and wherever we are, there is always “holy ground” between us. We will always be connected, and when we come back together again, it will be as if we were never separated. The idea of holy ground restrains the tears. It makes the separation exciting. There is no fear of loss. And the farther we are, the more holy ground that exists between us. They are on great adventures with God, and that diminishes all sorrow of their absence.
Pam & Sam, I am with you both, heart and soul.
